John Deadwyler, President

and founder of The Bernard Consulting Group, inc. for 22 years. John was also an Adjunct Professor in the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is currently a Senior Fellow of the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Prior to becoming a private consultant, John spent 20 years with Marion Laboratories/Marion Merrell Dow, a global pharmaceutical company. He most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Community Affairs, was President of the Marion Merrell Dow Foundation and served as a member of the Corporation’s Management Committee. He also served as President and CEO of the Scientific Education Partnership, a strategic alliance between Marion Merrell Dow, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas, to establish Kansas City as a regional center of excellence in basic research. Earlier in his career, John held key management positions in sales, sales management, product marketing and organizational development.

Susan Walker, consultant

Susan Walker has worked in various roles for BCG since 2015. Susan has a long track record of developing learning and development solutions for some of Kansas City’s biggest and best-known corporations, including Hallmark Cards, Marion Laboratories, Cerner Corporation, and Sprint.  Susan is skilled in design and delivery of blended training solutions across a wide variety of industries both domestic and international, including information technology, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, engineering, and legal services.  Susan’s expertise in process and procedure documentation, instructor-led training, certification programs, and eLearning development is a by-product of her passion and commitment to adult learning. At BCG Susan moderates focus groups, conducts one-on-one interviews, documents meetings and develops summary reports.

Mark Meierhoffer, financial consultant

has over 25 years’ experience in the financial arena. Prior to joining BCG, Mark spent fifteen years with a multinational Fortune 500 company, culminating his service as Vice President and International Treasurer. He spent seven years with a “big five” accounting firm, three years with a national investment consulting firm and two years as Chief Financial Officer of a national appliance manufacturer. At BCG Mark provides financial consultation services.

Brooke Morrison, consultant

has worked with the Bernard Consulting Group in some capacity since 2004. Brooke holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and after teaching for 4 years, Brooke left the teaching profession and came back to working with BCG. As part of the BCG team, Brooke conducts phone interviews and pre-planning assessments, provides project coordination, and assists in client scheduling and coordination from the beginning to the end of our relationship with you.

Laura New, consultant / office administrator

has been with BCG since its inception. Laura is a musician and college instructor with over 20 years teaching experience. In addition to teaching, she has directed student readiness assessments, developed curriculum and participated in research projects. At BCG Laura conducts pre-planning assessments, moderates focus groups, conducts one-on-one interviews, writes and edits strategic plans and other reports, and provides meeting documentation services.
